Please introduce yourself, your qualifications, and anything else you’d like the Rosh Pinah community to know.
My name is Titus Kleopas, and I am honoured to be the librarian at Rosh Pinah Library. I hold an Honours Degree in Library and Information Science, giving me a strong foundation in library management and information services. I am passionate about making the library an inclusive, dynamic space for learning and community growth. With experience in academic resource management and a focus on information literacy, I am excited to support the needs of students, educators, and community members, and look forward to working together to make the library a place where everyone can thrive.
What inspired you to take on the role of librarian in Rosh Pinah, especially after the library has been closed for so long?
I was drawn by the opportunity to help rebuild the library and restore access to information for Rosh Pinah after its closure. Reopening the library is a chance to reignite a culture of reading and discovery. I am motivated by the energy and resilience of this community and want to help make the library a place where all ages feel welcome to learn and connect.
What are your short- and long-term goals for revitalizing the library and attracting community members back to use its services?
In the short term, my focus is on making the library inviting and accessible—reorganising the space, resuming lending services, offering internet access, and hosting events to encourage visits. I am also reaching out to local schools and educators for collaboration. Looking ahead, I aim to develop the library into a true community hub, expanding access to digital resources, introducing new programs in literacy and career development, and building partnerships to ensure the library remains a vibrant, sustainable resource for everyone.

How do you plan to engage different age groups, especially young people and seniors?
I plan to introduce reading clubs, homework help, digital workshops, and creative activities for young people, making the library both fun and educational. For seniors, I want to offer activities such as book discussions, computer basics, and wellness talks, as well as intergenerational programs so different age groups can share and learn together. My aim is to create programs that reflect the interests and needs of all community members.
In what ways do you plan to incorporate technology or digital literacy programs into the library’s offerings?
Integrating technology is a key priority. I plan to offer basic computer skills classes, digital safety workshops, and access to e-books and online resources for all ages. For young learners, there will be coding clubs and fun educational tech activities. I’ll seek partnerships to bring in guest trainers and updated equipment, helping bridge the digital divide and equip the community with essential skills.
What partnerships or collaborations do you envision forming to enhance the library’s impact?
I hope to work closely with schools on literacy and research support, collaborate with NGOs for specialised programs and training, and partner with local businesses for sponsorships, volunteering, and career programs. These collaborations will help expand the library’s reach and create a space where the whole community can learn, connect, and grow.
