RPZ supports employee share ownership through NAMITVEST partnership

Rosh Pinah Zinc (RPZ) and NAMITVEST have signed anagreement that will enable RPZ Mine Workers Union (MUN) members to purchase shares in NAMITVEST directly through their salaries. The agreement, aimed at strengthening financial inclusion and long-term economic empowerment within the mining workforce, was witnessed at RPZ on 18 November 2025, in partnership with the Mine Workers Union of Namibia.

Through this collaboration, RPZ employees who are members of the MUN are offered an opportunity to participate in share ownership. NAMITVEST is an investment vehicle thatallows current and former MUN union members, as well as their dependents, to benefit from ownership in NAMMIC Holdings, a diversified Namibian investment company.

The agreement reflects a shared commitment by RPZ and NAMITVEST to broaden access to investment opportunities for employees. Speaking at the time, Acting Mine Manager Roelof Pretorius said the partnership created meaningful pathways for RPZ MUN members to participate in equity ownership and build greater financial independence.

MUN Vice President Mayemelo Kalumbu welcomed the agreement, noting that the scheme’s payroll deduction mechanism allows members to contribute towards their NAMITVEST shares directly from their salaries. He described the agreement as an important milestone and expressed appreciation to RPZ leadership for supporting the initiative.

The partnership also reflects RPZ’s focus on partnerships, reinforcing the view that stronger outcomes are achieved through collaboration. By working together, RPZ, MUN and NAMITVEST are advancing inclusive economic participation within the mining sector.
