Clean hands, healthy futures: School lead awareness sessions

As part of ongoing efforts to promote lead safety and healthier communities, RPZ is conducting a series of Lead Awareness sessions at local schools in Rosh Pinah.
The campaign is designed to help learners understand lead exposure and, most importantly, the simple actions they can take every day to protect themselves. Through age-appropriate and interactive activities, learners are introduced to key messages around handwashing, personal hygiene, keeping their surroundings clean, healthy nutrition, avoiding dusty areas and preventing hand-to-mouth exposure.
The campaign has so far reached learners at Hoeksteen Primary School, where the sessions have been met with encouraging participation. Learners have actively engaged in discussions, quizzes and practical activities, demonstrating a growing understanding of the small but important behaviours that can help reduce their exposure to lead.
The positive response received so far highlights the value of making health education simple, engaging and relevant to children’s everyday lives.
Lead awareness sessions will continue at local schools throughout the month, as RPZ works to strengthen awareness and encourage lead-safe behaviours among children, families and the wider Rosh Pinah community.
