Rosh Pinah Zinc (RPZ), together with its contractors, has reaffirmed its commitment to community wellbeing by participating in the 2026 Bank Windhoek Cancer Apple Project.

Now in its 26th year, the campaign focuses on childhood cancer and supports national awareness initiatives, patient financial assistance, and palliative care services through the Cancer Association of Namibia. Since its inception in 2000, the project has raised a remarkable N$38.4 million for the cause.

This year, Rosh Pinah Zinc and its contractors purchased 759 apples and 643 juices, contributing a combined N$11,051.00 to the campaign. RPZ further partnered with DRA to donate N$20,000 as part of the Corporate Challenge, an initiative that calls on businesses to contribute N$10,000 or more and to challenge other companies to match or exceed their donations.

"Many of us grew up knowing this campaign, especially when an apple made its way to us," a Rosh Pinah Zinc employee recalled. "It remains a noble cause, and one we can certainly support."

This initiative underscores Rosh Pinah Zinc's broader commitment to community development and corporate social responsibility. The company has consistently invested in local communities, contributing more than N$7 million to education, healthcare, and enterprise development initiatives. Rosh Pinah Zinc's mission of responsible extraction and partnership with stakeholders aligns closely with the Cancer Apple Project's goal of creating meaningful social impact.

The Bank Windhoek Cancer Apple Project remains one of Namibia's most significant and long-running fundraising initiatives. For Rosh Pinah Zinc, participation forms part of a broader commitment to fostering resilient local communities and investing in initiatives that endure beyond the life of mine.

The company continues to support programs that create meaningful, lasting change. These efforts, combined with a community-focused approach to development, reinforce RPZ's role as a key economic and social contributor in Namibia.
