Four years of bringing Rosh Pinah together: RPZ sports fun day

What started as an idea to bring people together has become one of the most anticipated days on the Rosh Pinah calendar.
On 6 June 2026, RPZ hosted its 4th Annual Sports Fun Day, and for the first time, Rosh Pinah wasn't the only town at the party. Teams and families travelled from Oranjemund and Keetmanshoop to join what has quietly become a genuine community institution, helping deliver record attendance and an atmosphere that had to be seen to be believed.
The Hoeksteen Sports Field came alive with relays, soccer, volleyball, netball, touch rugby, pool, darts, and tug of war, with Colour Party sessions making sure nobody stood still for long. Children had their own corner of the action, with a jumping castle and face painting keeping the youngest guests thoroughly occupied while their parents competed, cheered, and ate far too much.
Speaking of which, local vendor Beatha Haisomba sold out every single item she brought. Her verdict? "Next year, I will bring a whole cow." We'll hold her to that.

A special acknowledgement to the RPZ Events Committee, days like this don't happen by accident. The Sports Fun Day has always been about more than competition. It's about the kind of community RPZ wants to be part of, and help build. If this year is anything to go by, 2027 is going to be something special.
